The sculpture “Rytmetis” depicts a gorilla taking a bath, replicating a motif found in the painting “Rytmetis” by M. K. Čiurlionis.
The zoomorphic monkey in the bath is no coincidence – industrial electroplating baths were previously used in the Vilnius meter factory “Skaiteks”. During his studies, the sculptor used to bring sculptures to be chromed and nickel-plated there. Combining the initial idea of baths with the sculptor’s imagination and his favorite animal, this impressive gorilla has taken up residence in the Paupys area.
